Piranshahr; 23 Days of Arbitrary Detention and Lack of Information Regarding the Fate of Sabah Bivareh

June 5, 2026; Despite the passage of 23 days since the arbitrary detention of a young Kurdish man from Piranshahr named “Sabah Bivareh,” no precise information is available regarding his fate or place of detention.

According to an informed source speaking to Kurdpa, this Kurdish citizen has had only one telephone contact with his family since the time of his arrest and has been deprived of the right to access a lawyer and meet with his family.

The informed source added that the efforts of Sabah Bivareh's family to obtain information about his fate have been unsuccessful.

On the evening of Thursday, May 14, 2026, “Sabah Bivareh,” a 23-year-old Kurdish youth from “Kalakin” village, a subordinate of Piranshahr in West Azerbaijan province, was violently arrested and transferred to an unknown location during a raid on his home by security forces without the presentation of a judicial warrant.

Until the publication of this news, no information is available regarding the reasons for the detention of this Kurdish citizen, and security forces have provided no explanation in this regard.
