Mahabad; After 100 Days of Arbitrary Detention, Jalal Alavi Released on a Heavy Bail of 10.5 Billion Tomans

June 27, 2026; Following 100 days of arbitrary detention and months of complete lack of information regarding his fate, “Jalal Alavi,” a Kurdish citizen from Mahabad, has been temporarily released after posting a staggering bail of 10.5 billion Tomans.

An informed source told Kurdpa: Today, Saturday, June 27, 2026, Jalal Alavi, a Kurdish citizen from the village of “Kuseh Kahriz” in the suburbs of Mahabad, was temporarily released on a bail of 10.5 billion Tomans after spending 100 days in arbitrary detention with his family remaining completely unaware of his status for months.

In the early morning of Friday, March 20, 2026, Jalal Alavi was arrested by security forces without a judicial warrant and transferred to an undisclosed location.

To date, the reasons behind the arrest of this Kurdish citizen remain unknown, and security forces have provided no explanation regarding his case.

Mr. Alavi has a prior record of arrest; on January 16, 2023, he was arrested alongside three other Kurdish citizens during a security forces' raid on his home without a judicial warrant.
