May 29, 2026; Mamosta "Mla Osman Zakeri", the popular congregational imam of the "Aliabad" Grand Mosque in Bukan, has been dismissed from the position of congregational imam of this mosque and faced a defrocking decree without a trial or legal due process, on the charge of not bringing up "Khamenei's death" in the mosque during the 40-day war period.
An informed source, while confirming this news, told Kurdpa; during the past days, the decree of dismissal from the position of congregational imam of the "Aliabad" Grand Mosque in Bukan and defrocking has been issued for Mamosta "Mla Osman Zakeri". This decree was issued without a trial or legal due process, following case-building by the security agencies of the Islamic Republic in Bukan and its referral to the Great Council of the West of the Country. The charge attributed to him has been stated as "conversation and not bringing up the discussion about Khamenei's death in the mosque during the 40-day war".
Mamosta "Mla Osman Zakeri" is known as a reputable, popular, and trusted mamosta in the city of Bukan and surrounding areas, and is famous for honesty and good reputation among Kurdish religious mamostas.
In recent years, with the aim of supporting poor and underprivileged households, he had established a support and charitable fund in the mosque, which covered about 60 needy families from the city of Bukan and surrounding villages.
This source added; instead of Mamosta "Mla Osman Zakeri", an individual named "Mla Ayoub Razm", who is a pro-government cleric and has three wives, has been appointed as the new congregational imam of the "Aliabad" Grand Mosque in Bukan. According to him, during the introduction ceremony of this cleric, the people of the Aliabad region of Bukan did not attend in protest against this appointment, and only a number of government supporters participated in the ceremony.
According to this report, the Aliabad Grand Mosque of Bukan, as well as the support fund established by Mamosta Osman Zakeri to support 60 needy households, have been taken over by the new congregational imam, and these families have been deprived of the previous support.
