Kermanshah; The release of Bahman Naderi, a January detainee and former political prisoner, after 108 days of arbitrary detention

May 29, 2026; "Bahman Naderi", a former political prisoner and Kurdish citizen from Kermanshah, after 3 months and 18 days of arbitrary detention, 25 days of which were spent under interrogation and in a solitary confinement cell of one of the security detention centers in Kermanshah, was temporarily released upon posting bail during the past weeks.

An informed source, while confirming this news, told Kurdpa; "Bahman Naderi" was arrested on January 18, 2026, during a violent raid by security forces on his home without presenting a judicial warrant and was transferred to an unknown location. After 25 days of detention and interrogation in a solitary confinement cell of one of the security detention centers in Kermanshah, he was transferred to Dizel Abad prison and finally, after 108 days of arbitrary detention, he was temporarily released upon posting bail on May 5, 2026.

During his 3 months and 18 days of arbitrary detention, he was deprived of the right to access a lawyer and meet with his family. Also, during his 25 days of being held in a solitary confinement cell, he was deprived of all these rights and even a phone call.

Bahman Naderi, a Kurdish citizen from Kermanshah, is married and was born on May 2, 1990.

During the years 2023 to 2025, Bahman Naderi was arrested and summoned at least four times by security forces, and in several judicial cases, he was prosecuted and tried on charges such as "propaganda against the state", "assembly and collusion to disrupt national security", and "insulting official authorities". He has been repeatedly summoned and arrested in connection with protest activities, publishing calls on social networks, and the anniversaries of the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi uprising, and after enduring periods of detention, solitary confinement, and prison, he was temporarily released upon posting bail. Also, he has been sentenced to sentences of execution-style imprisonment, suspended imprisonment, and cash fines, and his Instagram page has also been blocked by a judicial order.

The record of arrests and convictions of Bahman Naderi during the years 2023 to 2024 and on the eve of the anniversaries of the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi revolutionary uprising;

On September 12, 2023, on the eve of the anniversary of the "Jin, Jiyan, Azadi" revolutionary uprising, Bahman Naderi was arrested by the security forces of the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and after one week of arbitrary detention, he was temporarily released upon posting a bail of 500 million Tomans.

On March 26, 2024, he was sentenced by Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Kermanshah to six months of execution-style imprisonment and a cash fine of eight million Tomans on the charge of "propaganda against the state", and this sentence was officially communicated to him in person. The hearing session for his charges was held on October 28, 2023, in Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Kermanshah, and the charge brought forward was stated as publishing calls on social networks to hold protests on the anniversary of the "Jin, Jiyan, Azadi" revolutionary uprising.

Also, on January 28, 2024, after being summoned to the Fourth Interrogation Branch of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office of Kermanshah, due to publishing a call on social networks to boycott the elections, he was arraigned on the charge of "propaganda against the state" and after a few hours of detention, he was temporarily released upon posting a bail of 400 million Tomans. In connection with this charge, he was summoned to Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Kermanshah on May 2, 2024, to take his final defense.

On the other hand, on September 10, 2024, Bahman Naderi was arrested again on the eve of the second anniversary of the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi revolutionary uprising by security forces without presenting a judicial warrant and was transferred to the IRGC Intelligence detention center in Kermanshah for interrogation. Security forces have accused him of "assembly and collusion to disrupt national security and propaganda activity against the state". After one month of detention in the IRGC Intelligence detention center in Kermanshah, upon completion of the interrogation phases, he was transferred to Dizel Abad prison in this city and on October 30, 2024, he was temporarily released upon posting a bail of 600 million Tomans.

Also, the Instagram page of this citizen has been blocked by a judicial order.

On December 11, 2024, Bahman Naderi was sentenced by Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Kermanshah to one year of suspended imprisonment and a cash fine of 10 million Tomans on the charge of "propaganda against the state", and this sentence was officially communicated to him.

On January 8, 2025, he was also sentenced by Branch 105 of the Criminal Court Two of Kermanshah to six months of execution-style imprisonment on the charge of "insulting official authorities and officers". The hearing session for the charges of Mr. Naderi was held on December 1, 2024, in Branch 105 of the Criminal Court Two of Kermanshah.
