Bukan: Rasoul Yadyar Released on Heavy Bail of 6 Billion Tomans After 4 Months of Arbitrary Detention and Severe Torture
Today, Saturday, May 23, 2026, Rasoul Yadyar, a Kurdish citizen from Bukan who was arbitrarily detained by security agencies for over 4 months—held without access to a lawyer, visitations, or family contact, and whose life was endangered due to severe physical torture—was temporarily released upon posting a heavy bail of 6 billion Tomans.
Previously, on December 26, 2025, during the eleventh day of his arbitrary detention, Kurdpa reported that Rasoul Yadyar had been transferred to the quarantine section of Bukan Prison after enduring severe physical torture in one of the security detention centers of the Bukan Intelligence Department. He was kept in a critical condition with his life in grave danger, completely deprived of medical care, access to a lawyer, and any contact or visitation with his family. His family was also deeply concerned about his physical well-being and fate.
According to an informed source speaking to Kurdpa, Rasoul Yadyar was subjected to severe physical torture during the initial days of his detention at the Urmia Intelligence Department's detention center, resulting in a broken hand, nose, jaw, teeth, and two broken ribs, while his entire body was covered in severe bruising. His head and face had also sustained severe injuries. The source added that despite his critical condition and intense pain, he was transferred to the quarantine section of Bukan Prison, and the Bukan Intelligence Department had ordered that no medical attention be provided to him. Concurrently, Rasoul Yadyar's family had been deprived of any communication or visitation with him, which severely escalated concerns over his life.
Rasoul Yadyar was arrested by Intelligence Department security forces on Tuesday evening, December 16, 2025, without a judicial warrant and was transferred to an unknown location.
Rasoul Yadyar, from the village of "Gug Tappeh" in Bukan, is 30 years old, married, and works as a baker.
