Tehran; Arrest and seizure of electronic equipment of Majid Karimi (Rahvard), a Kurdish poet and writer

May 14, 2026; on the evening of Thursday, May 14, 2026, Majid Karimi known as Majid Rahvard, a Kurdish poet, writer, and teacher of the Kurdish language from county of "Quchan" in the vicinity of Razavi Khorasan Province, was arrested by security forces in Tehran and his electronic equipment was seized and confiscated.

According to an informed source, security forces raided the home of this Kurdish poet without the presentation of a judicial warrant, and these forces seized his mobile phone and laptop and took them along.

This informed source added: This Kurdish writer was released from one of the security detention centers of Tehran on Friday, May 15, 2026, after the completion of the interrogation phases.

Majid Karimi known as Majid Rahvard, is one of the well-known activists in the field of Kurdish language and literature, and "Charakhpa" a collection of Kurdish (Kurmanji) poetry and "The Voice of Exile over the Scope of Literature and Culture" specific to Kurdish language and literature are among the works of this Kurdish poet.
