Bukan; 8 days of detention and lack of news regarding the fate of "Asty Mohammadi" Mother of two political activists outside of Iran

May 18, 2026; following the passage of 8 days since the arbitrary detention of "Asty Mohammadi," a 67-year-old Kurdish woman from Bukan by security forces, there is still no information available regarding her fate and place of maintenance, and she remains deprived of the right to access a lawyer, meetings, and contact with her family.

An informed source, while confirming this news to Kurdpa, said: "Asty Mohammadi," daughter of Haji Ghafour, 67 years old and from "Mirabad" of Bukan in West Azerbaijan Province, was arrested on the afternoon of Monday, May 11, 2026, by a raid of the security forces of the Bukan Intelligence Department on her family home, without the presentation of a judicial warrant, and was transferred to an unknown location. Furthermore, during this arrest, the mobile phones and laptop of the family members were seized by the security forces without legal authorization.

Asty Mohammadi is the mother of two political activists outside of Iran. Also, due to her age of 67 years, she has a continuous need for medication, but since the time of arrest, she has been deprived of access to her medications.

Until the publication of this news, there is no information available regarding the reasons for the detention of this Kurdish citizen, and security forces have provided no explanation in this regard. Furthermore, despite the continuous follow-ups by her family and relatives, no information regarding her status and fate has been given to them so far, and her family remains in a state of complete lack of news and severe anxiety regarding her situation.
