Dehloran/Ilam; Arbitrary detention of Abbas Mamousi and transfer to the Central Prison of Ilam

May 16, 2026; over the past few days, a young Kurdish man from the city of "Dehloran" in Ilam Province named "Abbas Mamousi" was arrested by security forces and transferred to the Central Prison of Ilam. Following the passage of 2 days since his detention, there is still no information available regarding his status and fate, and he has been deprived of the right to access a lawyer, meetings, and contact with his family.

An informed source, while confirming this news to Kurdpa, said: On Thursday, May 14, 2026, "Abbas Mamousi," a young Kurdish man from the city of "Dehloran" in the vicinity of Ilam Province, was arrested by security forces without the presentation of a judicial warrant and was transferred to the Central Prison of Ilam.

Local reports indicate that he was arrested due to "expressing joy over Khamenei's death"; however, until the publication of this news, there is no official information available regarding the reasons for the detention of this young Kurdish man, and security forces have provided no explanation in this regard.

Furthermore, since the time of his arrest, he has been deprived of the right to access a lawyer and any meetings or contact with his family.
