Sanandaj; Killing of Mohammad Sohrabzadeh Inside a Vehicle by Direct Fire from Armed Forces

March 31, 2026 – Over the past few days, “Mohammad Sohrabzadeh,” a Kurdish citizen from the city of Sanandaj, lost his life following direct fire by plainclothes armed forces. This event has raised serious concerns regarding the respect for the right to life and the principles of the legitimate use of force by armed forces.

According to available information, on the night of Sunday, March 29, 2026, this citizen, a resident of the “Kamiz” neighborhood of Sanandaj, was targeted by direct fire on the Qalyan–Sanandaj road while present inside a vehicle with members of his family. As a result of being struck by two bullets, he lost his life before being transferred to the hospital. Reports indicate that his father and mother were also present in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

The body of “Mohammad Sohrabzadeh” was buried on Monday, March 30, 2026.
