"Bukan" Prison; 52 Days of Arbitrary Detention of "Rahim Shilani" and "Azad Rasulifard" Torture in the Detention Center and Prevention of Temporary Release
March 22, 2026; Following 52 days of arbitrary detention of "Rahim Shilani" and "Azad Rasulifard", two Kurdish citizens from the city of "Bukan", these two individuals have been transferred to "Bukan" Prison after enduring torture and interrogation in one of the security detention centers, and their temporary release on bail continues to be prevented.
An informed source, confirming this news to "Kurdpa", stated: "Rahim Shilani" and "Azad Rasulifard", who were arbitrarily detained in late January 2026, were transferred to "Bukan" Prison after a period of interrogation accompanied by torture in one of the security detention centers, and have now been held in this prison in a state of uncertainty for several weeks, with their release on bail being blocked.
On Friday, January 30, 2026, "Azad Rasulifard", son of Rahim, born in 1980, and "Rahim Shilani", son of Osman, born in 1975, both from the city of "Bukan", were detained by security forces without the presentation of a judicial warrant and were transferred to an unknown location.
Until the publication of this news, no information is available regarding the reasons for the detention and the charges brought against these two Kurdish citizens, and the security agencies have provided no explanation in this regard. Furthermore, these two citizens have been deprived of the right to access a lawyer during the first 52 days of their detention.
