Sanandaj: Trial Held for Eight Labor and Civil Rights Activists

On Tuesday, April 7, 2025, the trial of eight labor and civil society activists from Sanandaj was held at Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj.
The individuals on trial were:
Seyed Khaled Hosseini, Jamal Asadi, Eghbal Shabani, Fardin Miraki, Sheith Amani, Farshid Abdollahi, Arman Salimi, and Sosan Razani.
Charges and Proceedings
The defendants faced charges including:
• “Propaganda against the regime”
• “Disruption of public order and peace”
They were given the opportunity to defend themselves against these accusations during the court session.
Previously, on Sunday, January 6, 2025, their interrogation session had been held at Branch 2 of the Sanandaj Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office.
Following the formal presentation of charges, they were released on bail pending trial.
Basis of the Charges
According to sources, the charges stem from their participation in a memorial ceremony for Daye Farasat Jafar Qeshlaqi, one of the Mothers of Justice in Sanandaj.
During the ceremony, the group reportedly performed a protest song, which was cited as part of the alleged offenses.
