Sarveh Pourmohammadi, Member of the “Nozhin” Cultural-Social Association, Transferred to Sanandaj Correctional Center to Serve Prison Sentence

On Saturday, April 18, 2025, Sarveh Pourmohammadi, a member of the Nozhin Cultural-Social Association, was transferred to the Sanandaj Juvenile Correction and Rehabilitation Center to begin serving her prison sentence. This transfer followed her summons to Branch Four of the Sanandaj Criminal Enforcement Court.
Sarveh had received her court summons on April 7, 2025, requiring her to report for the execution of her sentence.
Her original 10-year prison sentence was reduced to 5 years by the Court of Appeals. This revised ruling was communicated to her lawyers on Monday, November 27, 2023.
Previously, she had been sentenced by Branch One of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Karami, on charges of “forming a group with the intention of disrupting national security.” This sentence was first conveyed to her lawyers, Dr. Jwameer Abdollahi and Heyman Majidi, on Thursday, October 26, 2023.
On Monday, February 13, 2023, Sarveh Pourmohammadi had been temporarily released on bail from the same correctional center, pending the outcome of her trial.
She had initially been arrested on Sunday, January 29, 2023, by security forces while following up on the situation of detained members of the Nozhin Association at the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court.
