Cries for Justice: Hamid Hosseinnezhad’s Mother Pleads Outside Urmia Revolutionary Court

15:05 - 20 April 2025

At 1:00 AM on Saturday, April 19, 2025, Fars News Agency, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), broadcast a five-minute video featuring the forced confession of Hamid Hosseinnezhad Heydaranlou, a Kurdish political prisoner sentenced to death.

The video depicts Hamid in two different locations and with two different appearances, lacking narrative consistency. The footage attempts to reconstruct an alleged armed operation on the Chaldoran border to support the charge of “baghi” (armed rebellion).

Since the evening of April 16, 2025, Hamid has been held in an undisclosed location under the custody of the Intelligence Ministry. According to informed sources, authorities were attempting to coerce a new recorded confession, aimed at reinforcing the state’s narrative while discrediting the statements made by his family.

Confession Filmed Without Lawyer, in Chains, Contradicts Legal Evidence:‌

In parts of the video, Hamid is shown shackled and without legal representation, recounting alleged details that are directly contradicted by:

Official passport exit stamps proving he was outside Iran during the alleged event

In one scene, an interrogator behind the camera is heard correcting Hamid, and his responses appear uncertain and pressured.

“He Was Tortured for a Year in Solitary” – Ronahi Hosseinnezhad Speaks Out:‌

In response, Ronahi Hosseinnezhad, Hamid’s eldest daughter, released a video in which she broke her years-long silence and courageously stated:

“My father was held in solitary confinement for a whole year—tortured, without access to a lawyer.
That video is a forced confession.
They have no evidence, and they filmed that under threat and coercion.”

She revealed for the first time that she herself had been interrogated and threatened:

“They interrogated me for three hours.
They told me to say, ‘My father separated from me while we were in Turkey.’
They said, ‘We’ll buy you whatever you want—just say it.’
When I refused, they said, ‘If you don’t, we’ll kill your father.’”

“I didn’t say anything because it wasn’t true. And I knew they would record it and play it for my father.
I kept silent for three years because I was scared. But not anymore.”

Ronahi concluded with a powerful plea:

“My father is innocent. This video is just to justify his execution.
I ask the people: stand with him, protect him, stop this injustice.”

Full Statement by 15-Year-Old Ronahi Hosseinnezhad:

“My dad is innocent.
I swear on the Quran, he was never separated from us while we were in Turkey.
That video is a forced confession.

I’ve stayed silent for three years out of fear, but I won’t be silent anymore—I want the whole world to know.
While he was in solitary confinement, they did all sorts of brutal torture to him.
He couldn’t take it anymore, and he took the blame for everything.

Once, they called us for a so-called visit—but it was a setup for an interrogation.
They interrogated me for three hours at the Ministry of Interior’s intelligence office.
They laid out snacks and food and said, ‘We’ll get you anything you want, just say your dad separated from you.’
I told them the truth—he never left me. But they said, ‘If you don’t say it, we’ll kill your father.’
I knew they’d record my voice and use it against him, so I said nothing.

They threatened me: ‘If you tell your family about this, we’ll kill him.’
That’s why I didn’t speak for three years.
 But now I’m speaking up.

That video is entirely a forced confession. They want to convict us in the media.
Please—stand by my father. They have no real evidence.
They made that video with threats and pressure.
I’m asking you: help save my dad.
I swear to God, he is innocent.”
