Urmia: Nazanin Elyasi Released on Bail

On Thursday, April 10, 2025, Nazanin Elyasi, a citizen from Mahabad, was temporarily released from Urmia Prison after posting bail set at 4 billion tomans.
According to a knowledgeable source, Ms. Elyasi was denied access to legal counsel during her detention.
This Kurdish citizen was transferred to the detention center of the Urmia Intelligence Office for interrogation and was later moved to the city’s prison following the completion of the questioning process.
On Monday, December 16, 2024, Ms. Elyasi was arrested after being summoned to the Mahabad Intelligence Office.
As of now, the reasons for her arrest and the charges against her remain unclear.
