Nahro Rostamnejad, a 20-year-old youth from Saqqez, was injured in attacks by "hardline Salafis close to the government"
On February 1, 2024, a Kurdish citizen with the identity of "Nahro Rostamnejad", 20 years old and from Saqqez, was stabbed by several "hardline Salafis with ISIS tendencies" in one of the parks of Saqqez and was severely injured.
According to an informed source to Kurdpa; this 20-year-old youth who was working as a laborer in Tehran and had returned to Saqqez to visit his family, had no personal enmity with anyone, but these "hardline Salafis" after injuring him in a call to Nahro said they targeted him with knife attacks because of "blasphemy" in Tehran that was "evident in his pictures". This is while there is no picture or image of "blasphemy" of this 20-year-old youth.
The informed source of Kurdpa says; the "hardline Salafis" for various reasons and solely to intimidate the people who carry out these acts. On the other hand, considering the history of the acts carried out by the "hardline Salafis" and the fact that these people have not been held accountable by any government body so far, they are "close" to the government and are in the "security margin of the government".
The informed source of Kurdpa also says; that now these "hardline Salafis" have demanded the consent of this 20-year-old youth and said that if he does not consent, they will "kill" some of them.
Currently, the Rostamnejad family has legally complained and is waiting for the court to investigate. This family has also attached the film and documents related to the case to the complaint file.
Nahro Rostamnejad was severely injured in the head and both legs during these attacks.
This is the several times that people affiliated with the "hardline Salafi" groups have targeted civilians in the cities of Marivan, Sanandaj, and Saqqez with knife attacks.
On the evening of July 25, 2023, a 35-year-old Kurdish citizen named "Farooq Rashidi", from Saqqez, was killed by hardline Salafi individuals. In May 2021; a group of hardline Salafis with the cry of "Allahu Akbar" on the pretext of blasphemy a sword and axe attacked several youths in the neighborhood of Darsiran in the city of Marivan and severely injured one of the residents of this neighborhood. In response, the people of the neighborhood "Darsiran", especially women, confronted them with stone and wood. Following the threats of this hardline group, they again attacked the neighborhood of Darsiran on May 7 but were forced to retreat by the united resistance of the people.
In May 2021; hardline Salafi groups on the road "Malqrni" in Saqqez county attacked several youths on the pretext of drinking alcoholic beverages and severely injured them.
In Jun 2021; several religious hardline Salafis riding motorcycles and chanting "Allahu Akbar" in Sanandaj attacked some of the residents of the neighborhood "Haji Abad" in this city and severely injured one person. The residents of this neighborhood also injured two of the hardline forces in response to the attack, which resulted in a large number of Salafis gathering in front of the "Kowsar" hospital with hot and cold weapons, and the streets leading to it were closed by the presence of security forces.
