Marcel Hoppe, the political sponsor of Yusef Ahmadi; is innocent and has been unjustly sentenced to death

Marcel Hoppe, the political sponsor of Yusef Ahmadi, a Kurdish political prisoner sentenced to death, wrote in a post on his X page; that Yusef Ahmadi's life is in grave danger after his death sentence was confirmed by the Supreme Court of the country.

This member of the German parliament added; I, as the political sponsor of Yusef Ahmadi, demand his freedom. He is innocent and has been unjustly sentenced to death. Mr. Hoppe, after the conviction of Yusef Ahmadi to death, took his political sponsorship on October 8, 2023, and wrote; I took his political sponsorship to draw attention to his situation and put pressure on the Islamic Republic with the public opinion. He also referred to the physical and psychological tortures inflicted on Yusef Ahmadi in the security detention centers and said that this political prisoner is deprived of access to a lawyer and all legal and international human rights standards have been violated in his case.

Branch 39 of the Supreme Court of the country confirmed the death sentence of Yusef Ahmadi, a Kurdish political prisoner from Baneh who is in Sanandaj prison.

After three years and four months of temporary detention, Mr. Ahmadi was sentenced to death by the first branch of the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj, headed by Judge "Saeedi", and three other political prisoners from Baneh named "Mohammad Karimi", "Basit Karimi" and "Mohammad Feizi" were sentenced to a total of 65 years in prison.

According to the verdict of the first court, Yusef Ahmadi was sentenced to death on charges of "rebellion", Mohammad Karimi was sentenced to 25 years in prison on charges of "assisting in rebellion", Basit Karimi was sentenced to 20 years in prison on charges of "assisting in rebellion" and Mohammad Feizi was sentenced to 20 years in prison on charges of "assisting in rebellion".

The last court session to hear the charges of these four citizens was held on August 27 in the first branch of the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj and the verdict issued against them was issued on September 2 and notified to them on September 3.

These four citizens were arrested without a judicial warrant by the security forces with the start of the wave of arrests of citizens in Baneh and the security forces had accused them of "cooperating with one of the Kurdish opposition parties of the Iranian government".

These four citizens were transferred to one of the security detention centers in Sanandaj for interrogation after being arrested and transferred to the central prison of this city after the completion of the interrogation.

The security forces had severely tortured these four citizens in the detention center to obtain forced confessions.
