Marivan; Continued detention and lack of information about the fate of Adel Pirouzi, a former political prisoner

After nearly a month of the arrest of Adel Pirouzi, a former political prisoner from the village of "Sardush" in Marivan, there is no information available about his fate.

According to an informed source, this citizen has been deprived of access to a lawyer, phone calls, and visits with his family during the past 28 days.

The informed source added: The follow-ups of the family to find out about the fate of their child have had no result.

On November 19, Adel Pirouzi was arrested after being summoned to the Marivan Intelligence Department.

So far, no accurate information has been obtained about the reason for the summons and arrest of Mr. Pirouzi.

On March 6, 2020, this former political prisoner was released from Marivan Prison due to the spread of the Corona crisis.

Adel Pirouzi was arrested in November 2018 on charges of "collaborating with one of the Kurdish opposition parties of the Iranian government" and was temporarily released on bail after two months of detention.

This young Kurd was sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment by the judicial system of the Iranian government on the same charge and was transferred to Marivan Prison to execute his sentence.
