Urmia Intelligence Detention Center; Violent Arrest and Complete Lack of Information on the Whereabouts of Kaveh Rahimi, a Bukan Resident, After 23 Days

As of July 22, 2025, with 23 days having passed since the arbitrary and violent arrest of Kaveh Rahimi, a 40-year-old Kurdish resident of Bukan, and his transfer to one of the Urmia Intelligence detention centers, there is no information whatsoever regarding his whereabouts.

According to a source informed by Kurdpa: On Tuesday, July 1, 2025 (10 Tir 1404), at 3 a.m., security forces from the Urmia Intelligence Department, without presenting a judicial warrant, raided the home of Kaveh Rahimi, a 40-year-old Kurdish resident of Bukan, breaking the door and arresting him violently before transferring him to one of the Urmia Intelligence Department’s security detention centers.

The informed Kurdpa source states that, with 23 days having passed since this Kurdish citizen’s arrest, there remains no information about his situation, and he has been denied the right to any contact or visitation with his family as well as the right to access legal counsel.

The absolute lack of information on the whereabouts of Kaveh Rahimi and the absence of any response from the relevant authorities have caused serious concern for his family.

At the time of this report’s publication, the reasons for his arrest and the charges brought against this Kurdish citizen remain unknown.
