Sanandaj; Farhang Eywazi was released from prison under electronic surveillance
In recent days, Farhang Eyvazi, a Kurdish civil activist from the village of "Tangesir" in the suburbs of Sanandaj, was released from prison in this city under electronic surveillance.
This political prisoner will spend the rest of his sentence outside the prison and with travel restrictions in Sanandaj.
On November 1st, 2022, Mr. Eyvazi was summoned to the Enforcement of Judgments of the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj and arrested and transferred to the prison of this city to serve his sentence.
This civil activist had previously been sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj to three years and nine months in prison on charges of "membership and cooperation with one of the Kurdish opposition parties to the Iranian government".
On January 23rd, 2020, this citizen was released from the detention center of the Intelligence Department of Sanandaj after 43 days of detention by posting bail.
This civil activist was deprived of phone contact, meeting with family, and access to a lawyer during his detention.
On December 12, 2020, security forces raided the home of this Kurdish activist without presenting a judicial warrant and arrested him.
