Sanandaj/ Idris Menbari, a member of the board of directors of the cultural-social association "Nojin" was sentenced to imprisonment, exile and lashes
Idris Menbari, a civil activist and a member of the board of directors of the cultural-social association "Nojin" was sentenced in absentia by branch 106 of the criminal court of Sanandaj on charges of "disrupting public order" to one year of correctional imprisonment, exile to Diesel Abad prison in Kermanshah and 40 lashes of correctional degree 6.
On Sunday, December 18, 2022, security forces arrested this Kurdish activist at his home without presenting a judicial warrant and after exploring his home, they confiscated his laptop and personal belongings and took them with them.
This civil activist was transferred to the detention center of the intelligence department of Sanandaj after being arrested for interrogation.
On Sunday, January 29, 2023, Idris Menbari was released from detention on bail of one billion tomans until the end of the judicial proceedings.
The meating on the charges against this civil activist was held on Tuesday, October 9, 2023 in branch 106 of the criminal court of Sanandaj, presided over by Judge "Bahman Omidzadeh".
The indictment of Mr. Monbari states that his previous detention days will be counted in the execution of his prison sentence.
Furthermore, branch 106 of the criminal court of Sanandaj did not consider the execution of the sentence of him in his place of residence, expedient and issued an order to execute his prison sentence in Diesel Abad prison in Kermanshah.
The verdict issued against Idris was in absentia and within 20 days after notification, it will be subject to appeal in branch 106 of the criminal court of Sanandaj and then within 20 days, it will be subject to review in the appellate courts of Kurdistan province.
