October 9, 2026 — Five days after the rearrest and arbitrary detention of Ali Riahi, a Kurdish citizen from Mahabad, no information is available regarding his fate or whereabouts. Since his detention, he has been systematically denied access to legal representation, family visits, and telephone contact. This marks his second arrest in recent months, coming just weeks after he was temporarily released on bail following months of arbitrary detention.
An informed source confirmed the news to Kurdpa, stating: "On Sunday, October 4, 2026, Ministry of Intelligence agents raided the workplace of Ali Riahi, a native of Qarah Qeshlaq village in the Sharveran region of Mahabad. Following a subsequent summons to the Intelligence Office on Monday, October 5, he was arrested without a judicial warrant, and there has been no news of his condition or location since."
According to the source, Riahi was previously arrested in late June 2026 during a violent home raid without a warrant. After several months of arbitrary detention in an undisclosed facility, he was temporarily released on bail in mid-September 2026.
As of the publication of this report, the official pretexts for his rearrest remain unknown, and security authorities have offered no explanation regarding his case.
