The victims’ identities have been reported as two siblings, Hadis and Reza Saidi aged 23 and 22 respectively. The situation of Reza has been reported as critical.
Hadit Saidi was wounded in the neck and chest, and Reza Saidi was wounded in the abdomen and hands.
In 2003, Hadit’s and Reza’s uncles, Shahram and Bharam Saidi, died in landmine explosion.
Even though the provinces like West Azarbayejan, Kurdisrtan, Ilam, Kermansha and Khouzestan are the most mine-infested regions in Iran with more than 16 million landmines, the Iranian government has not yet done anything to tackle this problem.
