Kurdpa Agency: Three days later, the Shaho mountain forest rangeland fire was controlled by environmental activists and ordinary citizens.

According to a report received by Kurdistan Press Agency (Kurdpa), environmental activists as well as ordinary citizens in Kamyaran managed to control the fire set on the Shaho forest by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).

According to eyewitnesses, the movement and preventative measures taken by the IRGC has made it extremly difficult for the people and activists to get around controlling the fire of the Shaho grasslands.

Environmental activists say: \"The Revolutionary Guards movement will continue until August 12” and this makes it difficult for the people to put out the fire.

On Monday, August 7, a large part of the Shaho mountain forest was set on fire due to shelling by the IRGC.

The IRGC forces stationed in the “Kashtar” and “Tangvar” village in Kamyaran set the Shaho mountain on fire.

Citizens have repeatedly stated that most forest fires in the Kurdish areas are being set up by individuals affiliated with security and military institutions, and therefore government-related institutions do not take any action to control the fire.

Shaho Mountain is located on the borders of Iranian Kurdistan and the Kurdistan region.
