Land Mine Explosion leaves one Casualty

Kurdistan Press Agency: A Kurdish Man from Salasi Bawajani lost one of his legs because of land mine explosion.

According to the news received to Kurdistan Press Agency, on Sunday, December 11, at 10 p.m, a Kurdish man whose name is’’ Farid Qadri’’ 28 years old, has stepped on land mine on ‘’shex sala’’ border in Salasi Bawajani and lost one of his legs.
Farid has been transferred to one of the hospitals of Kermanshah in order to receive further treatments.

Economical crisis Iranian Kurdistan and especially in those places where are on the borders has increased due to lack of learning center and job places. This has obliged the Kurdish Citizens to start the formidable job of load holding on the border.

According to the Human rights’ Activists, Imprisonment, offence, high wall construction, murder, and injury haven’t be able to prevent Kurdish men to proceed with their load holding on the borders.

After the end of Iran- Iraq war for about 27 years ago, there is still a hidden “foe ‘’ land mine which takes the life of citizens, especially the residents of the governorates of West Azerbaijan, Ilam, Kermanshah and Kurdistan.

According to UNICEF statistics, 6 millions hector of Iran’s land has been planted in land mine, and 16 millions land mines exist in the whole Iran according to the recent information.

The properties and lands of the Iranian Kurdistan cities located on the borders such as: Mehran, Dehloran, Qasri Shirin, Naft Shar, Somar, Jwanro, West Gilan, Pawa, Mariwan, Bana, Sardasht, Piranshahr, shno, and a part of Urmia are involved in land mine with the area of 4 million and 200,000 hector.
