Kurdish Man Lost a Leg After Stepping on Landmine

Kurdistan Press Agency: A Kurdish man from Saghez lost one of his legs when he stepped on a landmine close to the border outside the city of Baneh.
According to information obtained by Kurdistan Press Agency a Kurdish citizen by the name of Khalid Mohammad lost one of his leg while he was close to the Sairanban border crossing.
A source close to incident toldKurdistan Press Agency thatMohammadwas first transferred to a hospital in Penjwenin Iraqi Kurdistanfor treatment, but because of the seriousness of hisinjury he was later transferred to one of the hospitals in Sulaimanyah.
The source also said that Mohammad is 30 years old and that he lost one of his legs below the knee due to the explosion.
Earlier this month another Kurdish man by the name of Abdullah Chalaby, whowas from the village of Silvanain Orumiyeh,also lost one of his legs after stepping on a landmine close to a border crossing with Iraqi Kurdistan.
