Kurdish human rights activist elected to Geneva City Council

Kurdpa Agency: Kurdish human rights activist from the city of “Sarpel Zahaw” and resident of Switzerland elected to Geneva City Council.
According to a report received by Kurdistan Press Agency (Kurdpa), “Tamour Eliassi” the representative of the Kurdistan Human Rights Organization of Iran-Geneva at the United Nations, was elected to the Geneva City Council in Switzerland. It is important to note here that this is the first time that a Kurd is been elected to a position at this level.
The Geneva City Council elections are held every five year, and Eliassi’s represents the Socialist Party of Switzerland.
He is scheduled to take an oath of office next Wednesday and formally take office.
