Kurdish Cultural Activist Sentenced to Prison

Kurdistan Press Agency: Kurdish cultural activist Manoochehr Pourdl has been sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison in his absence.
Manoochehr Pourdl who is a Kurdish cultural activist was arrested by Iran’s intelligence agency on February 21, 2013. He was later released on a 20,000-dollar bail bond. Pourdl fled Iran after that he was released on bail.
According to Pourdl’s family the intelligence agency pressured the family to pay the 20,000-dollar bail bond.
Manoochehr Pourdl was sentenced to prison in his absence by a revolutionary court in the city of Mahabad.
