Mahabad: Arbitrary Arrest and Incommunicado Detention of Kurdish Academic Seyed Kamal Ebrahimi

As of June 29, 2025, Seyed Kamal Ebrahimi, a Kurdish citizen from Naqadeh and lecturer at the Mahabad School of Nursing, remains in incommunicado detention following his arbitrary arrest three days prior, with no official information available regarding his fate or whereabouts.
According to a reliable source who spoke to Kurdpa, on Saturday, June 28, 2025, Mr. Ebrahimi, aged 31, was forcibly arrested by agents of the Intelligence Department during a raid on his workplace at the university. The arrest was carried out without a judicial warrant, and he was subsequently transferred to an undisclosed location.
Despite repeated inquiries by his family, the authorities have refused to disclose any information regarding his location, condition, or legal status. As of the time of publication, the grounds for his arrest and any formal charges remain unknown.
It is also notable that on June 24 and 26, 2025, six other Kurdish citizens from Naqadeh—Amin Bashouki, Kaveh Qaderi, Rahman Khalkhani, Farhad Karimi, Saman Kakemami, and Saman Seyed Mahmoudian—were likewise arrested without judicial warrants and taken to undisclosed locations by security forces.
