Kurdistan Press Agency (Kurdpa): A Kurdish Kolbar (porter), from the city of Urmia, died of frostbite in Dalampar Heights, located in border region of Urmia.

According to reports received by Kurdpa, a Kurdish kolbar, Mozafar Hosseini, 35, son of Ali, from Gasiyan village in Urmia, died of frostbite in Dalampar Heights, located in border region of Urmia.

Mozafar was carrying goods to make a living when he died in Dalanpar’s frosty weather on Friday, the 26th of October.

Last year, five Kolbars lost their lives due to frosty weather, blizzard and avalanche in the cities of Urmia, Shno (Oshnavieh) and Piranshar (Piranshahr).

Kolbari (carrying goods on their backs from the Iraqi Kurdistan to the Iranian Kurdistan) in order to make a living is a dangerous job. The economic crisis in the Kurdish provinces of Iran, especially in the border regions, is one of the main causes of taking up this job by people.

Kurdish Kolbars who have to take up this job to earn a living more often lose their lives due to different reasons such as being shot dead by the Iranian military forces, frostbite or landmine explosion.
