Charged with ‘publication of falsehood’, A Kurdish journalist ordered to pay fine

Kurdistan Press Agency (Kurdpa): Kurdish journalist, from the city of Saghez, was ordered to pay a fine.

According to reports received by Kurdpa, the 102nd branch of Saghez Criminal Court was sentenced a Kurdish journalist, Aras Ghorbanipour, to pay a 20 million Rials fine.

Having written on local authorities’ corruption in his Telegram channel called ‘Awat Saghez’, Aras was alleged with ‘publication of falsehoods in cyberspace’. His trial was held on June 12, 2018.

A few days ago, Aras was received his sentence based on which he had to pay a fine.
