Kurdistan Press Agency (Kurdpa): A Kurdish Kolbar (porter) died of direct shots of Iranian military forces in border regions of Urmia.
According to reports received by our agency, a Kurdish Kolbar, Zakarya Bakri, son of Ali, from Halaj village in the city of Urmia was shot dead by Iranian military forces on Saturday, October 20.
Zakarya was shot without receiving previous warning from Iranian forces, our correspondent reported.
In another incident, two Kurdish Kolbars, Rahim Gerdasouri, from Gerdasour village in the city of Piranshar (Piranshahr) and Moustafa Hosseini, from the city of Sardasht, were shot wounded by Iranian Military forces a few days ago.
Kolbari (carrying goods on their backs from the Iraqi Kurdistan to the Iranian Kurdistan) in order to make a living is a dangerous job. The economic crisis in the Kurdish provinces of Iran, especially in the border regions, is one of the main causes of taking up this job by people.
Kurdish Kolbars who have to take up this job to earn a living more often lose their lives due to different reasons such as being shot dead by the Iranian military forces, frostbite or landmine explosion.
