A human rights activist sentenced to one year’s incarceration

Kurdistan Press Agency (Kurdpa): A Kurdish human rights activist, from Sna (Sanandaj), was sentenced to one year’s incarceration by the first branch of Sna Revolutionary Curt.
According to reports received by our agency, today, Saturday, the 13th of October, Sna Revolutionary Curt sentenced a human rights activist, Mohammad Sedigh Rostami, son of Saiid, to one year’s imprisonment on charge of “insulting the Leader”.
With regard to his sentence, Mohammad Sedigh Rostami wrote: “I was in the first branch of Sna Revolutionary Curt when the court’s secretary verbally informed me about my one-year prison sentence on charge of insulting the Leader. All of this happened while in contrary to any constitutional rules and regulations, I am to be tried in another court on the same charge on November 19th; it means two trials and two sentences on the same charge”.
