Wave of Arrests in Bukan: Omid Chaobaz, Sedigh Karimi, and Hadi Azizi, a Civil Activist, Were Also Arrested

August 14, 2026; In the continuation of the wave of arbitrary and mass arrests of Kurdish citizens in the city of Bukan, three other Kurdish citizens named "Omid Chaobaz", "Sedigh Karimi", a former political prisoner, and "Hadi Azizi", a civil activist, were also arrested. Kurdpa had previously published the news of the arrest of "Shawaneh Divazi".

According to an informed source speaking to Kurdpa; on Thursday morning, August 13, 2026, at 2:00 AM, "Omid Chaobaz", a Kurdish citizen from the village of "Haji Lak" in the district of the city of Bukan, was arrested by security forces without presenting a judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location.

Also on Thursday, August 13, 2026, "Sedigh Karimi", a citizen from the city of Bukan, was arrested during a raid by security forces on his home without presenting a judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location. Sedigh Karimi is a former political prisoner and has a history of arbitrary arrest and a 6-month prison sentence.

Additionally, on Thursday morning, August 13, 2026, at 2:00 AM, "Hadi Azizi", a Kurdish citizen and civil activist from the city of Bukan, was arrested during a raid by security forces on his home without presenting a judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location. During this arbitrary arrest, security forces damaged many items in the home and, without presenting a judicial warrant, confiscated and impounded Mr. Azizi's personal belongings, including his laptop and mobile phone, as well as his car, and took them away.

Furthermore, on Thursday morning, August 13, 2026, around 3:00 AM, security forces of the Intelligence Office, without presenting a judicial warrant, raided the home of "Shawaneh Divazi", a Kurdish citizen from the village of "Sarchnar", and arrested him. Following his arrest, this citizen was transferred to an unknown location. "Shawaneh Divazi", 44 years old, is married and the father of three children.

Until the time of publication of this news, no information is available regarding the reasons for the arrest and possible charges against these Kurdish citizens, and security forces have offered no explanation in this regard. Additionally, these Kurdish citizens are deprived of the right to access a lawyer, family visits, and telephone calls.
