Saqqez: Seyed Azad Hosseini Ended His Life Due to "Poverty and Unemployment"
August 12, 2026; Over the past few days, a Kurdish citizen from the city of Saqqez named "Seyed Azad Hosseini" lost his life by committing suicide due to "poverty and unemployment".
An informed source confirmed this news to Kurdpa, stating: On Monday evening, August 10, 2026, "Seyed Azad Hosseini", a 40-year-old citizen from the village of "Parsanian" in the district of the city of Saqqez and resident of the "Salehabad" neighborhood of the city of Saqqez, married and father of two children, ended his life by hanging himself.
According to this source, the reason for his suicide was "poverty and unemployment".
The body of Seyed Azad Hosseini was buried on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in the "Aichi" cemetery in the city of Saqqez.
Kurdistan Province is among Iran's provinces with an unfavorable status in terms of unemployment and poverty; so that with an unemployment rate of 13.7 percent, it was the second province in the country in terms of the highest unemployment rate, with only Kermanshah ranking higher at 15.2 percent. Poverty and unemployment are also considered among the social factors affecting the increase in suicide risk.
