Ilam; Transfer of Kiumars Hassanbeigi from Detention Center to Prison After 16 Days of Arbitrary and Violent Detention
August 6, 2026 – "Kiumars Hassanbeigi," a Kurdish citizen from "Karzan" in Sirvan County, Ilam Province, was transferred to Ilam Central Prison after 16 days of arbitrary detention in an IRGC Intelligence security detention center.
An informed source, confirming this news, told Kurdpa: "Kiumars Hassanbeigi" was transferred to Ilam Central Prison after 16 days of detention in the IRGC Intelligence detention center. According to this source, he suffered a broken nose due to physical torture and beatings, and owing to his alarming physical condition, his family has called for urgent medical attention for him.
On July 22, 2026, "Kiumars Hassanbeigi" was arrested by security forces without presenting a judicial warrant and through violent force and a raid on his home, then transferred to an unknown location. He had also sustained injuries from physical assault during his arrest.
As of the time of publication of this report, the reasons for the arrest of this Kurdish citizen remain unknown, and security forces have provided no explanation in this regard. Furthermore, throughout the period of detention, he has been deprived of the right to access a lawyer, phone calls, and family visits.
