Bukan; Kurdish Children's Book and Painting Exhibition Opens to Promote Art and Reading

June 29, 2026; A Kurdish children's book and painting exhibition, organized by the "Serbexwer" (Sarbakho) Educational Institute, has officially opened in the city of Bukan. Attended by prominent literary figures and cultural advocates, the exhibition will run for three days until Wednesday.

The event commenced today, Monday, June 29, 2026, and its opening day drew a large turnout of residents, particularly children and teenagers. Attendees from various cities across Kurdistan also traveled to take part in the event.

Featuring a wide collection of Kurdish children's literature alongside visual art pieces, the exhibition aims to promote reading habits among the youth, support local artists and writers, and foster stronger ties between art, literature, and the community. The organizers have invited all culture and art enthusiasts to visit and support these cultural initiatives.

Featured Artists and Educators:

  • Ardalan Gholami (Painter): A portion of the exhibition is dedicated to displaying the professional works of this visual artist. Born in Khorramabad, Gholami discovered his passion for painting during childhood and has been working professionally in the field for many years.
  • Sousan Hassanzadeh (Author & Educator): Another key section highlights the contributions of Hassanzadeh, a veteran Kurdish language instructor and author. She has spent years teaching the language and has authored several educational textbooks for both children and adults.

The exhibition, which boasts the presence of notable writers and scholars—including Aso Najari, Dr. Ali Morteza, Dr. Ahmad Gholami, Fouad Savani, Mohammad Rasulnia, Niaz Naseri, and Dr. Iman Karimvand—will remain open until Wednesday.
