Bukan; Night Raid, Property Destruction and Seizure, Lack of Information on Civil Activist and Former Detainee Masoud Khalili Amid Ongoing Attempts to Arrest Him
June 25, 2026; Eleven days after a violent night raid by Intelligence Department security forces on the home of Masoud Khalili—a civil activist and former political detainee in Bukan—and the seizure of his personal belongings and property, there remains no information regarding his fate and status. Concurrently, attempts by security forces to arrest him continue.
An informed source, while confirming this news, told Kurdpa: At midnight on June 15, 2026, dozens of armed security forces violently raided Masoud Khalili's home without presenting a judicial warrant. During this armed raid, all belongings and properties of the family were searched without legal authorization and subjected to extensive destruction. Furthermore, all family members were subjected to severe physical assault, resulting in wounds and fractures.
Kurdpa's source stated that this violent raid was conducted with the aim of arresting Masoud Khalili. Since the security forces failed to locate and arrest him, they unlawfully confiscated all of his personal documents, including his national ID card, marriage certificate, and bank cards. Additionally, Masoud Khalili's car, which was parked in the courtyard of the house, was severely vandalized before being confiscated and towed away by the security forces.
Masoud Khalili, a 40-year-old Kurdish citizen from Bukan, has been active in civil and cultural fields, particularly in printing and publishing Kurdish books, especially for children. He has also participated in Nowruz celebrations and environmental activities.
Mr. Khalili has a prior record of detention. In 2025, he was arrested by security forces without a judicial warrant and, after two months of arbitrary detention in a security detention facility, was temporarily released upon posting a bail of one billion Tomans.
