Mahabad; Ongoing Detention and Absolute Lack of Information Regarding the Fate of Soran Sohrabi

March 31, 2026 – Despite 12 days having passed since the arrest of “Soran Sohrabi,” a Kurdish citizen from the city of Mahabad, there is no precise information available regarding his fate or place of detention.

According to an informed source, security forces arrested this citizen 12 days ago at his family home without presenting a judicial warrant.

The informed source stated: Thus far, the efforts of Soran Sohrabi’s family to obtain information regarding his fate have been unsuccessful, and security forces have refused to provide a clear answer regarding his fate and location.

The informed source added: Since the time of his arrest, this Kurdish citizen has been deprived of access to a lawyer and meetings with his family.

Soran Sohrabi is the brother of “Arsalan Khodkam,” a former political prisoner who was released from the Central Prison of Urmia in July 2024 after serving more than six years of imprisonment.
