Ilam; Ongoing Arbitrary Detention and Uncertainty Regarding Sasan Chamanara and Parastoo Chamanara
March 28, 2026 – Two weeks after the arbitrary detention of Sasan Chamanara, a Kurdish artist and former political prisoner from the city of Ilam, and his sister Parastoo Chamanara, they remain in the central detention center of Ilam under a temporary arrest warrant in a state of uncertainty.
According to an informed source who spoke to “Kurdpa,” the siblings have been denied access to a lawyer and meetings with their family since the time of their arrest.
The informed source added: The temporary arrest warrant for these two Kurdish citizens has been extended for a period of one month.
On Monday, March 16, 2026, Sasan Chamanara, along with his sister Parastoo Chamanara, was arbitrarily arrested by security forces.
