Isfahan: Detention of "Nima" and "Mahan Hemmati", Two Kurdish Brothers, by Security Forces
On the evening of Wednesday, March 18, 2026, "Nima Hemmati" and "Mahan Hemmati", two brothers from the city of "Abdanan" in the province of "Ilam" and residents of "Isfahan", were detained by security forces and transferred to the "Intelligence Administration" detention center in the "Isfahan Central Prison".
According to an informed source, security forces stopped the vehicle of these two Kurdish citizens on one of the highways in "Isfahan" and detained them without presenting a judicial warrant. Following their arrest, the two brothers were transferred to the "Alef-Tay" (A-T) security ward of the "Intelligence Administration" in "Isfahan Central Prison".
"Mahan Hemmati", 17 years old, is an 11th-grade student in the field of photography, and "Nima Hemmati" is a Master's student of Ethnomusicology at "Rasht University". They are the sons of Dr. "Naser Hemmati", a psychiatrist, translator, writer, and civil activist from "Abdanan", who has a history of several previous detentions and convictions due to his civil activities.
