According to local reports, the movement and deployment of military forces and equipment in schools, universities, and mosques have been observed over the past few days, and the presence of military forces in private vehicles, stationed at intervals from one another across the city, has also been reported.
According to reports received from Sardasht city in West Azerbaijan province, forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) are deploying and moving personnel and military equipment in several educational and public centers. According to local sources, the presence and movement of these forces have been observed in a number of schools as well as within the environment of Payame Noor University of Sardasht.
It has also been reported that in the village of "Bivaran" in the vicinity of Sardasht, IRGC forces are present in the school and mosque of this village and have proceeded to deploy forces and equipment.
On the other hand, a number of military personnel along with equipment have been stationed inside the city and are present on guard inside vehicles at intervals of approximately ten to twenty meters from each other.
Based on the principles of International Humanitarian Law and the provisions of the Fourth Geneva Convention, parties involved in armed conflicts are obliged to distinguish between military objectives and civilian locations and to refrain from the military use of civilian centers, including schools, educational centers, and public places, which could put the lives of civilians at risk.
