July 23, 2026 – Yesterday, a 21-year-old Kolbar and father of two young children named "Rasul Qalandari" was initially wounded by military gunfire from border guards and subsequently killed after receiving two shots to the head at close range (Tir-e Khelas).

A well-informed source confirmed the news to Kurdpa, stating: "Rasul Qalandari, a 21-year-old Kolbar, was alone on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, in the border heights of 'Belajuk' in the Qotur district of Khoy County, West Azerbaijan Province, when he was shot with live ammunition by border guard forces, sustaining a wound to his leg. Border guard personnel then approached him; despite his pleas not to kill him, explaining that he had two young children, they fired two fatal shots to his head, taking his life."

According to the source, Islamic Republic border guard forces subsequently contacted his family, instructing them to retrieve their son's body. The young Kolbar's body is currently being held at the Khoy Forensic Medicine Department and is set to be buried in his native village of Belajuk.
