Ilam; Arbitrary Detention of 8 Kurdish Youths and Teenagers; Pezhman Asl-Marz, Mohammad-Javad Zeynivandi, Milad Tabaraei, Majid Porrang, Mohammad Piri, Ali Zeynivandi, Armin Pirani, Ruhollah Sheikhi
February 20, 2026; In the continuation of the wave of arbitrary and mass detentions of Kurdish citizens in Ilam Province, 8 Kurdish youths and teenagers in the cities of Darreh Shahr, Malekshahi, Sarabeleh, Dehloran, Mormori, and Abdanan, named “Pezhman Asl-Marz, Mohammad-Javad Zeynivandi, Milad Tabaraei, Majid Porrang, Mohammad Piri, Ali Zeynivandi, Armin Pirani, Ruhollah Sheikhi,” were arbitrarily detained and transferred to an unknown location.
An informed source, while confirming these detentions, told Kurdpa; the detention of these Kurdish youths and teenagers was carried out violently by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran without presenting a judicial warrant, and until the publication of this news, there is no information available regarding the reasons for the detention of these Kurdish citizens, and security forces have provided no explanation in this regard.
The details and dates of the detention of these citizens are as follows;
On Thursday, February 19, 2026, “Pezhman Asl-Marz,” an 18-year-old youth from city of Darreh Shahr, was detained.
On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, “Mohammad-Javad Zeynivandi,” a 14-year-old teenager from city of Darreh Shahr, “Milad Tabaraei,” a Kurdish youth from city of Malekshahi, and “Majid Porrang,” a 39-year-old citizen from city of Sarabeleh, were detained.
On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, “Mohammad Piri,” a 17-year-old teenager from city of Dehloran, “Ali Zeynivandi,” a 14-year-old teenager from city of Dehloran, “Armin Pirani,” a Kurdish youth from city of Abdanan, and “Ruhollah Sheikhi,” a 38-year-old citizen from city of Mormori, were detained.
It is necessary to mention that “Armin Pirani,” a Kurdish youth from city of Abdanan, was detained during the 40th-day memorial ceremony of Alireza Seydi, a killed teenager from city of Abdanan, in Tehran. He had also been previously detained on January 8, 2026.
