February 13, 2026; Amjad Amini, the father of Zhina–Mahsa Amini, wrote in response to the publication of images of bare-headed girls at the government ceremonies of February 11: “They killed my innocent daughter for four strands of hair and no one was held accountable, yet they film and broadcast girls with bare heads and what they call 'unconventional' attire at official ceremonies, and no one cries 'Woe for Islam!'—these are strange times!”

On September 16, 2022, Zhina–Mahsa Amini, 22 years old and from the city of “Saqqez,” lost her life at the “Kasra Hospital” in the city of “Tehran” after falling into a coma following a severe assault by Guidance Patrol forces. Her state killing sparked a wave of nationwide protests that led to the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” uprising; an uprising with a global impact that, despite bloody repression resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries, marked a new chapter in the people's struggle for freedom.
