Mahabad: Soroush Yousefzadeh Sentenced to 6 Months of Discretionary Imprisonment on Charges of Propaganda Against the System
September 21, 2025; During the past few days, a Kurdish citizen from Mahabad named “Soroush Yousefzadeh” was sentenced to 6 months of discretionary imprisonment by the First Branch of the Mahabad Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge “Siyami,” on charges of “propaganda against the system.”
An informed source, in a conversation with Kurdpa while confirming this news and the notification of the verdict to “Soroush Yousefzadeh” on September 16, 2025, added: on July 13, 2025, after 25 days of detention and interrogation, he was temporarily released upon posting a bail of one billion until the trial was held.
Kurdpa had previously published: at 4:00 AM on Thursday, June 19, 2025, “Soroush Yousefzadeh” was detained by security forces following a raid on his home without the presentation of a judicial warrant and was transferred to an unknown location.
During this arbitrary detention, in addition to seizing some of Mr. Yousefzadeh’s personal belongings, the security forces also confiscated and took the mobile phones of his father and brother.
