Mahabad Prison; Kamran Ravaz Detained for 111 Days in Legal Limbo, 76 Days in Detention Centers

October 29, 2025; After 111 days since the arbitrary arrest of "Kamran Ravaz," a Kurdish citizen from Mahabad—of which more than 76 days were spent in one of the security detention centers—he is currently being held in a state of legal uncertainty at Mahabad Central Prison.

According to an informed source speaking to Kurdpa, Mr. Ravaz, who was arrested in July 2025, was held incommunicado with no information available regarding his location or fate for 64 days, until he was eventually transferred to Mahabad Prison. He remained in Mahabad Prison for one month awaiting a court verdict without the right to temporary release. Subsequently, he was transferred back to the Intelligence Administration detention center for two weeks of further detention and interrogation before being returned once again to Mahabad Prison, where he is currently being held in limbo.

The informed source told Kurdpa that throughout his total of 76 days of detention and interrogation in security detention centers, this Kurdish citizen was deprived of the right to contact or meet with his family, as well as access to a lawyer. Even after his transfer to Mahabad Prison, he has been denied the right to temporary release (bail).

In the early hours of Friday, July 11, 2025, "Kamran Ravaz," a Kurdish citizen from Mahabad, was arrested by security forces of the Intelligence Administration during a raid on his home without the presentation of a judicial warrant and was transferred to an unknown location. Until the time of publication of this news, no information is available regarding the reasons for the arrest or the charges brought against this Kurdish citizen.

Kamran Ravaz, 29 years old, is married and the father of one child.
