Saqqez; Temporary Release of Four Kurdish Citizens on Bail After 61 Days of Arbitrary Detention
Today, Saturday, October 18, 2025; four Kurdish citizens from Saqqez named "Omid Rahimzadeh," "Mehdi Kamali," "Zakaria Moradi," and "Mohammad Aminpour," were temporarily released on bail after 61 days of arbitrary detention.
During their detention, these citizens were held and interrogated in one of the security detention centers of the Intelligence Administration of Saqqez without access to legal counsel or family visits.
Kurpa had previously reported; on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, "Omid Rahimzadeh," 47, son of Mahmoud and from the village of "Tavakalian," "Mehdi Kamali," 41, son of Saeid and from the village of "Tavakalian," "Zakaria Moradi," 35, son of Ali and from the village of "Shaqala," and "Mohammad Aminpour," 30, son of Ahmad from the village of "Qatloo," suburbs of Saqqez, were arrested by security forces of the Saqqez Intelligence Administration without the presentation of a judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location. Their fate remained unknown for weeks.
Until the publication of this report, the reasons for the arrest of these individuals remain unclear, and their detention is categorized as arbitrary and extrajudicial.
