Sanandaj; Detention and Lack of Information Regarding the Fate of Azad Haji Mirzaei, Civil Activist and "Jin, Jiyan, Azadî" Detainee

Today, Wednesday, October 15, 2025, "Azad Haji Mirzaei," a civil activist and former detainee of the "Jin, Jiyan, Azadî" movement from the village of "Babariyan," a suburb of Sanandaj, was detained by security forces without a judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location.

According to an informed source speaking to Kurpa, this civil activist was detained by Intelligence Department security forces at his workplace in one of the shops in the Sanandaj market without the presentation of a judicial warrant and has been transferred to an unknown location.

Azad Haji Mirzaei had previously been detained and held in solitary confinement at the Sanandaj Intelligence Department detention center several times during 2022 and 2023. As one of the detainees of the "Jin, Jiyan, Azadî" revolutionary uprising, he has been subjected to pressure and interrogation during several periods of detention and was released temporarily upon posting bail or providing a written commitment.

Following the consistent policy of security agencies regarding arbitrary detention without judicial warrants or the explanation of charges, there is currently no information available regarding the reasons for this Kurdish citizen's arrest, and security forces have provided no explanation in this regard.
