Sanandaj: “Kordo” Gold Gallery Sealed by the Public Places Supervision Office on Pretext of Lack of Hijab
Saturday, September 20, 2025, the “Kordo” Gold Gallery located on “Adab” Street in Sanandaj was sealed by the Public Places Supervision Office of the Law Enforcement Command of Kurdistan Province on the pretext of lack of hijab.
The Instagram page of this gallery, while publishing this news, wrote, “Just like that, on simple pretexts and because of lack of hijab, they sealed it.” This page further wrote, “Sealing this gallery is not just closing a shop; it means taking the bread away from more than 15 families.”
On the sealing notice of this gallery, it is written: “This business unit has been sealed pursuant to Article 27 of the Guild System Law, and based on Note 2 of Article 27 of the law, those who break the seal or wax of closed locations in the execution of this law and use said locations in any way for business shall be sentenced to the punishments stipulated in the Islamic Penal Code. Public Places Supervision Office of the Law Enforcement Command of Kurdistan Province”
The sealing of this gallery comes while in the Guild System Law, no article mentions lack of hijab as a reason for sealing a shop; according to Article 27, unions or relevant departments can issue an order to close and seal a unit in case of business violations (for example, lack of a business license, health violations, or similar cases).
