“Mohammadreza Khani,” an 18-year-old Kurdish youth from “Harsin” in “Kermanshah” province and a resident of “Alborz” province, is the identity of another victim of the popular protests of January 9, 2026, in “Eshtehard,” “Karaj.” On the evening of Friday, January 9, in the “Kianmehr” area of “Karaj,” he was killed by the direct firing of two live bullets to the waist area by the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic.
Mohammadreza Khani was a member of the national “Kickboxing (MMA)” team and a national gold medalist. In April/May of the current year, during the national championships and the qualifying competitions for the Bahrain Asian Youth Games, in the -80 kg weight class and modern style, he succeeded in winning the runner-up title.
His body was buried in his birthplace “Harsin,” and images of his family and relatives mourning have been published.
